Rockit is a miniature apple, about one and a half times the size of a golf ball, sold in clear tubes of three to five. It is sweet, crunchy and made for snacking.
It was bred in Hawke's Bay, New Zealand, from a 1989 cross with Royal Gala as one parent, and it was first known as PremA96. Licensed growers now raise it in several countries, including Washington State.
Sweet and crisp with thin skin and a small core, so there is very little waste.
